The PixoPoint Video shortcodes plugin for WordPress allows you and your sites administrators, editors etc., to copy and paste the embed codes from various video hosting websites including Youtube, Viddler, Vimeo and VideoPress into a WordPress post or page. On publishing or updating the content, that embed code will be automagically converted into a WordPress shortcode.

This is ideal for situations in which your end-users are not necessarily trusted users and hence can’t be given permission to add raw javascript or flash to your site. Since the plugin automagically converts them to WordPress shortcodes, the security issues associated with allowing such code is avoided.
